Dining Room Manager

Rachel Martin, originally from York, Pennsylvania, joined the dining room management team at Mountain Standard in November 2024. She began her journey in the Vail Valley in 2022 at Sweet Basil, starting as a server before moving behind the bar. It was there that she developed a deep appreciation for the creativity and passion behind both the culinary and beverage programs.

Rachel studied Marketing at Temple University in Philadelphia and moved to Vail in 2021 on a spontaneous solo leap, seeking more time outdoors. She initially lived and worked at Piney River Ranch and quickly realized the Vail Valley was home. With experience in the restaurant industry since 2018, she credits Sweet Basil and Mountain Standard as the most formative chapters of her career, drawn in part by the strong presence and culture of both restaurants within the valley.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys photography, graphic design, snowboarding, hiking, and camping—often alongside her dog and boyfriend. She is especially passionate about blending her creative background with food and beverage and hopes to fully merge the two in her future career. “I love working for a company that has taught me more than I ever imagined,” she says, “and I hope to continue sharing that knowledge with everyone around me.”
