Chef Sebastien is the man behind the sweets. He creates delicious and unique desserts for both Mountain Standard and Sweet Basil. He is a French pastry chef living the American Dream here in Vail. His sense of humor and fun loving disposition is a fabulous addition to the kitchen. Chef Sebastien grew up and went to culinary school in Alsace, France. Sebass, as his friends call him, came from a food loving family and knew at a young age that he enjoyed cooking. His grandmother is credited for his inspiration of and introduction to pastries. He joined our company with much experience from France, Australia, and Vail: Mirabelle and Splendido. Chef Sebastien is a happy, always smiling, family guy who loves living in Vail, which reminds him of the mountains of France, because people are better at altitude and he can drive a big truck. He enjoys spending time with friends, the Colorado outdoors, riding bikes and dirt bikes, fishing, playing basketball, and skiing.
