To say Cole is enthusiastic is an understatement. Whether he is in the kitchen cooking, hunting or fishing, spending time with family, or playing outside, he gives everything he’s got for the cause. He grew up in New Braunfels, Texas and when he was younger, he never really considered cooking a career for himself. However, he contributes his passion for cooking to hunting camp. Family meal was prepared by all and eaten together, everything from scratch and were the best meals he ever knew.
His first job in the industry was a busser at a burger restaurant. This led to his first cooking position at a bar and grill in College Station, Texas. Cole’s true training began when he left Texas and joined a culinary program with Vail Resorts that took him on a two-year journey between Colorado and Wyoming. He discovered his love for cooking, restaurants, and hospitality when he, and the rest of the world, were forced to take some time off. When the world reopened and after working on a cattle ranch in New Mexico, he accepted a job offer at Sweet Basil. He states that living in the Vail Valley sometimes feel surreal and is grateful to work at a place that feels like family and encourages only the best from him.
